Kodsan Water Heaters respond to the needs of users with innovative structure, design and environment friendly isola-tions. We adapt easily to customer requirements with various designs. Against corrosion, interiors of Kodsan Water Heaters are coated with two coats of titanium doped enamel which is hygienic and highly durable. The enamel, we use in our products, is heavy metal free boron and silisium based and it complies with European Standards and RoHS values. All water heaters have magnesium anode rods for additional protection. Magnesium anodes dissolve with the aid of electrolysis occurring in the tank thus it extends the life of the tank. The magnesium anodes rods also comply with Eu-ropean Standards in terms of chemical composition.
Every unit that leaves Kodsan factories is vigorously tested under several conditions
CITRIC ACID RESISTANCE TEST
In this test, a 10% citric acid solution should be applied onto the enamel surface for 15 minutes according to EU Standards (ISO 2722). The purpose of this test is to see the deformation on the enamel surface caused by acid attacks. Kodsan applies 30 minutes of citric acid test to its enamel to get the highest rating of AA class.
METAL SHEET QUALITY
Kodsan uses galvanized DIN EN 10111-98 DD 11 low carbon hot-rolled steel sheet for its water heaters. The sheet is appropriate for use in cold forming, deep drawing, single/double layer or single/double firing and enamel coating. The sheet has good weldability and resistance to ageing. For the product range of Hot Dipped Galvanized Water Heaters/Storage Tanks (G Series), Kodsan uses S355J2 (ST 52-3) metal sheets. All our sheets are heavily gauged and galvanized despite the enamel coating which is in direct contact with water.
BOILING WATER & STEAM RESISTANCE
In this test, the sample is exposed to boiling water and steam for a period of 48 hours. At the end of this process, the enamel on the sample normally reduces in mass. The limit of this mass loss should be at most 3.5 g/m2 according to EU Standards. For Kodsan Products, this amount is 1gr/m2 and there are two layers of enamel as opposed to one.
PAINT STANDARDS TEST
Metal covers of Kodsan Water Heaters are coated with electrostatic powder painting which is developed with environmental consciousness. It does not include substances such as lead and solvents. Kodsan coats the metal with iron phosphate before the painting process to prevent any risk of corrosion. Kodsan Quality Teams apply the following tests to the paint samples on a daily basis:
- Shock Test
- Scratch Test
- Bending Test
- Salt Test
For a salt test, they should apply it 380-420 hours to the sample according to EU Standards but Kodsan applies 460 hours salt test to its samples, 600 hours for the African market.
Kodsan applies EU Standards and daily tests in its laboratory to continue supplying the best quality products to its customers.
For A High Quality & Long Lasting Water Heater Kodsan uses:
- DIN EN 10111 98 DD 11 low carbon hot rolled galvanized metal sheet which is appropriate for enamelling and cold forming.
- Enamel which is based on heavy metal free boron and silisium x two coats.
- Enamel which complies with EU Standards and with RoHs values.
- Enamel which has 200μm – 300μm
- Two times surface clearance before enamelling.
- SRM enamelled pipes which have resistance to maximum pressuresPolyurethane for insulation with a 50kg/m3 density, vacuum spaces and thermal fluid coils which are patented to Kodsan.
- 50μm – 85μm electrostatic powder painting for covers, or optionally leather for in-door tanks
HEAT SUSTAINANCE TEST
Our tanks can handle commercial pressures and temperatures exceeding 120 Degrees Celsius as these periodically temperatures are achieved when using solar thermal fluid to heat the water.
All Kodsan Systems come with high-quality brass fittings, valves, thermostats and electrical back up elements that have in built controls and protection for long term sustainability. One of the primary items with all our products is the thermostatic valve. This valve regulates output temperature from the tank to prevent hot water wastage and scalding/damage to pipes. Temperatures in the tank can exceed 80 Degrees Celcius on a daily basis, the thermostatic valve pre-mixes water at the outlet point to a pre-set temperature to reach the pipes leading to the outlet point.
